Quality Engineer


Execute on quality engineering functions, improvement efforts including plans, processes, policies and procedures to ensure custom components meet or exceed internal and external customer expectations. Stimulate change to advance from quality control to quality assurance.

  • Write and review work instructions, routings and other manufacturing documents to ensure they are easy to understand with appropriate controls in place to meet quality standards
  • Validate process at the source
  • Focus intensely on detail to establish stable processes that are measurable, repeatable and meet customer specifications
  • Ensure operations and quality know how to inspect, effective testing techniques, statistical methods, quality tools and use of equipment
  • Think critically to work through problems/non-conformance, effectively troubleshoot, follow-up and implement corrective actions to ensure rapid resolution
  • Audit and train team to expand skills
  • Advance the Quality Management System – document control system, company quality control guidelines and procedures, training documentation, instructions, forms and records
  • Contribute to ISO and AS9100 certifications, regulatory compliance
  • Collaborate within the organization, with customers and suppliers to develop strategies to prevent quality related deficiencies
  • Promote and support all safety, health and wellness practices, policies and procedures
  • Perform daily standard work and other job duties as required

  • Advanced knowledge of measurement and quality related tools including, SPC, FMEA, PDCA, 5Y
  • Experience with and knowledge of QA requirements under ISO 9001:2015; AS9100C; ISO 13485
  • Proficient computer knowledge (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • BS in Mechanical engineering, or a technical degree, or related engineering training
  • Manufacturing quality experience, minimum of ten years
  • Required to have fine motor hand dexterity
  • Sight, depth and visual perception needed
  • High concentration is vital
