Advanced Finisher
SUMMARY
Based on experience level, involves detailed to reasonable instruction and frequent to moderate supervision by the Production Coordinator and/or Director of Operations. Deburr, file, polish, media blast, clean and smooth blending edges of custom precision machined components to sketch specifications and customer satisfaction.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Interpret sketches, specifications or sample parts to determine finish condition of work pieces
- Collaborate with engineering and production to help develop techniques and procedures
- Pick up defects with the use of microscopes
- Operate a manual lathe
- Analyze problems and make decisions
- Assemble components
- Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly
- Inspect and gauge for part quality
- Ensure accuracy of paperwork and data entry
- Focus on detail and continuous improvement
- Promote and support a safe work environment
- Partake in life-long learning program
- Perform standard work and all other job duties as required
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- Communicate effectively and work well with team members
- Practical shop mathematics
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma and/or GED
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Sit for long periods of time, stands occasionally, walk, push and pull < 10 lbs
- Performs a variety of repetitive tasks
- Good hand-eye coordination
- Required to have fine motor hand dexterity
- Sight and visual perception needed
- Moderate to high concentration vital
