AccuRounds Hosts Manufacturing Day Event for the Community

AccuRounds hosted an Open House on Manufacturing Day, October 7th, welcoming 225 visitors from local high schools as well as state agencies. Plant tours were conducted focusing on various aspects of the business including engineering, machining and quality assurance.

Visitors got a first hand look at the mechanical components that AccuRounds manufactures such as shafts used to process the flu vaccine, pins that are assembled into airplane wings and valves that control flow in oil pumps. AccuRounds’ team members spoke to the groups about their roles and the dynamic environment of manufacturing. Students and teachers from Brockton High School Youth Career Connect (YCC), Old Colony Regional Vocational High School, Bristol-Plymouth Regional Technical School, and Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School toured AccuRounds. Members from the Brockton Area Workforce Investment Board (BAWIB), MassMEP and representatives from the Office of Housing and Economic Development for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts also attended the Open House.

Manufacturing Day is an annual event that takes place nationwide in October. Last year, the state of Massachusetts proclaimed October as Manufacturing Month. Manufacturers across the state are opening their doors to the public and taking part in activities to highlight the positive impact that manufacturing has on the economy as well as the different opportunities for a career in the manufacturing industry.
